Edit Canon XF605 XF-AVC Video in Final Cut Pro X
Having just bought the Canon XF605 camera I’m now confused as to how to import / work with the 4K XF-AVC footage in FCP X. I’ve downloaded the Canon XF Utility of XF-AVC but this does not seem to enable me to import or transcode the files for use in Final Cut Pro X.”

However, after recording some 4K XF-AVC videos with Canon XF605, more than one guys are stuck in the issue: the popular video editor like Apple Final Cut Pro definitely doesn’t use the 4K 4:2:2 10-Bit; it crashes and shuts down.
The Canon XF605 uses Canon’s new XF-AVC codec to record video files and package them in an .MXF wrapper. The XF-AVC uses the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video compression format, efficiently recording 4K video to regular memory cards while achieving a high data compression rate and preserving image quality, which is much difficult for Final Cut Pro X to recognize and support.
